Elegant and innovative, Fragments is a sofa end table that showcases Istrenn, a new rigid, aesthetic and durable composite made from recycled shells developed by Malàkio. Malàkio is a French sustainable design company, founded in September 2020 by Morgan Guyader and Hugo Kermarrec. Based in Nantes, it specialises in recycling shells from human consumption, such as oysters, mussels and scallops, to transform them into designer and eco-responsible objects. Istrenn is a material designed for very long-term use. It thus represents a sustainable and local alternative to imported and polluting materials. The unique mineral aspect, both refined and textured, gives each piece an authentic character.
